This bill is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. What is voluntary today will become mandatory tomorrow. As noted in the article, the bill is “meant to address the concerns of developers…” Sadly, the unique needs of our counties when it comes to setting their own standards for wind and solar installations is not of concern to those who voted YES on this bill. Let’s hope the rest of our legislators understand who elected them and who they represent. Last time I looked it wasn’t the wind and solar developers.
The argument against wind turbines I can understand, but anyone that’s against solar installations needs checked. They literally cause zero environmental harm and they’re complete silent. Turbines hit birds and cast shadows (obviously) but the solar debate needs to stop. At what point to do make changes and produces better power? It’s not like these projects are built around major population zones. Smart farmers and land owners are on to this already and getting paid to do nothing.
