Executives at Honda Manufacturing of Indiana will change jobs as part of a nationwide restructuring.

Bob Nelson, currently a senior vice president at the Greensburg factory, will become president, effective April 1.

Nelson will replace Jun Nishimoto.

A spokeswoman for the company declined to say where Nishimoto was going or elaborate on the company’s restructuring.

The management changeup is part of a transition throughout Honda North America Inc.’s operations.

The Torrance, Calif.-based North American headquarters for the Japanese automaker plans to move 50 of its employees, including its leaders, to Marysville, Ohio, in an effort to speed up decision making and improve efficiency, Honda said.

Honda’s Indiana spokeswoman said the company would release more details about the changes closer to April 1.

More than 2,000 employees produce the Civic and the Acura ILX in Greensburg.
