A prison guard who helped a double murderer escape from Rockville Correctional Center last year has been sentenced to eight years in prison. Scott Spitler pleaded guilty to “aiding escape” after hiding Sarah Pender in a van in August and driving her off the prison grounds. Pender was captured in Chicago five months later after she was seen on “America’s Most Wanted.” She’s serving a 110-year sentence for killing her two roommates in 2000.
