Evan Austin swam in three Paralympics for Team USA, winning gold in the 50-meter butterfly S7 and bronze in the 400-meter freestyle S7 event in 2020 in Tokyo. From those successes, he was recruited to serve as a professional keynote speaker with college speaking agency ForCollegeForLife and as development officer for The Ability Experience. As development officer, he campaigns and raises funds for individuals with disabilities. As a keynote speaker, he shares his story with audiences “who might need reminding that they are not alone and that someone believes in them.”
Proud moment in your career? “I was invited by the National Association of Campus Activities to speak in Kansas City at their NACA Live event on the topic of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility.”
What have you learned about yourself since you joined the workforce? “No matter what endeavor you are beginning, progress and meaningful momentum should be the goal.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? “Professionally, I truly do not know. Personally, I would love to be married to a beautiful woman and hopefully [be] a father to some kids.”
