Teddy Guzek’s company specializes in finding technical cybersecurity gaps for its clients, then providing ways to mitigate risk. As founder/CEO, Guzek is responsible for the overall direction of the company. After graduating from college, he moved to Chicago for a job with a consulting company, where he traveled the world and learned to work with and manage many clients at a time. When he felt ready, he returned to Indianapolis to start Hoplite. Guzek says the main theme in his career in cyber has been to help colleagues and clients get an understanding of vulnerabilities that matter most to their business.
Proud moment in your career? “I’ve built a team one by one for the last two years, and since the beginning have made it a goal to not only create something productive and effective, but also collaborative and fun.”
What have you learned about yourself since you joined the workforce? “I enjoy working. I know that sounds funny, but for someone who thought sports were everything in life, I feel extremely lucky to have found a career path that is competitive and motivates me like sports used to.”
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? “Continuing to grow the company is an obvious answer, but my ultimate goal is to sponsor a car at the Indy 500 and be involved at the track.”
