The firm’s location in the Silicon Valley area is set to launch July 1, said Tom Froehle, Faegre’s chief operating partner based in Indianapolis.
The office initially will be staffed by two of the firm’s attorneys who will relocate from its Minneapolis office. But Froehle expects Faegre lawyers from Indianapolis to make frequent visits.
“We have a number of attorneys in Indianapolis who do work with California clients,” he said, “and we expect them to spend time there.”
The office will provide intellectual property services, including patent, trade secret, copyright and trademark litigation, in addition to intellectual property transactions.
Faegre Baker Daniels was formed in January 2012 following the merger of Minneapolis-based Faegre & Benson and Indianapolis-based Baker & Daniels LLP.
With 212 attorneys in Indianapolis, Faegre Baker Daniels ranks as the city’s second-largest law firm, according to the most recent IBJ statistics.
