The Hamilton County Leadership Academy—where the idea originated as part of a group project—is accepting applications for its next class through June 30.
The 10-month leadership-development program kicks off in late August. Classes meet monthly at different venues throughout the community.
The selective program is open to Hamilton County residents or those with business or civic interests there who want to get more involved.
One rite of passage: group projects like the Great Squirrel Art Stampede, which IBJ wrote about last week.
Inspired by the actual migration of more than 100,000 squirrels in the 1820s, members of HCLA’s Class of 2013 got the public art project started and hope a future class picks up the idea and runs with it.
