A growing expo for Indiana’s technology industry will give 60 startups a shot at pulling in capital on July 11.

Each company will get 60 seconds to pitch their businesses to Halo Capital Group, Elevate Ventures and a handful of other seed- and early-stage investment firms.

The investors will pick a winner for $60,000 in business services.

More significantly, event organizer John Wechsler said, the top two companies will get to sit down one-on-one with Halo and Elevate to discuss investment possibilities.

“A lot of times, you spend all your energy to just get that meeting, then you show up all bloodied and battered,” said Wechsler, a board member of Venture Club, which is hosting the event with Verge.

The rest of the day will include exhibits and discussion panels.

The event is in its fifth year. The expected attendance has swelled to 1,000, causing the event to move to the Dallara IndyCar Factory in Speedway from its previous location at Developer Town.
