Subscribe NowSingle-family-building permit filings rose 35 percent in the nine-county Indianapolis area in July, the 13th straight month of year-over-year increases, the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis announced Monday.
BAGI said 500 permits were filed in July, up from 370 in July 2012. Year-to-date, filings have risen 27 percent from the same period a year ago.
Hamilton County was the busiest county in July with 192 permits filed, up 19 percent from July 2012.
Marion County filings rose 54 percent, to 77. Hendricks, Johnson and Boone counties also saw sizable increases.
Overall, the July number was the highest since 641 permits were filed in 2007.
