The Whitsett Group LLC has changed its name to TWG Development LLC, and Milhaus has created a division to manage properties it develops.
Whitsett’s name change better reflects the company’s shift from affordable housing projects to more commercial and market-rate housing developments, as well as the addition of principal Dennis Dye, said principal and founder Joe Whitsett. Dye joined the company in May from Browning Investments.
TWG has several projects in the works or under construction, most notably the redevelopment of The Indianapolis Star building at 307 N. Pennsylvania St. Construction on the first phase of that project is expected to start by November. Plans call for 500 units in three buildings, one of which will have retail space.
Meanwhile, Milhaus’ new property management division will start by managing its $26 million Artistry development at 451 E. Market St. set to open in November.
Kim Hurd, a 17-year veteran of the residential property management industry, has been hired as director of residential services for Artistry.
