So the carmel mayor now makes 1.9x as much as the indianapolis mayor?
Woof
To be fair, he’s at least that many times as impactful as our Mayor’s have been over the same timeframe.
Cart and horse problem…. Maybe if we paid a far wage for the job we would get better candidates than the last few jokers…
How many Carmel residents are getting a 5.99% increase this year? Is this all about increasing his last year’s pay to up
his pension?
City Council unanimously voted to increase their pay. I bet my employees would do the same. There should be a better performance pay ratio.
City council members are paid less than $25k/yr. They work ridiculously hard. Are you seriously complaining that they get a $1k pay bump? Is this complaining just to complain?
Wow, you must must have zero clue the amount of commitment and the hours this takes if you are going to complain about paying them less than $24,000/year. A majority of the time commitment occurs in the evenings/at night, taking them away from their families. Most do not do it for anything other than to give back to their community. If you think the pay is excessive and you do not like it, then run on the platform that you will donate your salary back to the City of Carmel.
Anytime you put pay information out like this without the context of recent year changes, you’re just trying to “stir the pot”. It works, but it just shows a very shallow level of journalism.
