Tenneco Inc. officials say the factory in the Noble County city of Ligonier is increasing production to make parts on a new line for Chrysler. Most of the factory's current products are made for Chrysler and Ford, including catalytic converters and exhaust systems.
Starting wages for the new full-time positions range from $13 to $14.50 an hour.
The News Sun reports that Lake Forest, Ill.-based Tenneco now has about 600 workers at the factory in the city about 40 miles northwest of Fort Wayne.
The company will be hiring machine operators, welders, material handlers and other positions.
