Subscribe NowFor many years, including my time at Indiana Black Expo, I have worked to bring people together for the betterment of our city. I’m grateful that our City-County Council and mayor put aside partisan differences to pass a budget.
Several years ago, this community developed a sports strategy that, coupled with our convention center and other cultural venues, continues to generate revenue from conventions, food, beverages, hotel rooms and car rental fees. All of these activities draw visitors that foster a thriving economy. This includes wonderful attractions such as Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the zoo, symphony, museums, professional sports and concerts.
While we have personal favorites, collectively they offer variety that appeal to many residents and visitors. I am grateful that our elected leaders have taken action to ensure we remain competitive with other metropolitan areas across the nation. Congratulations on this latest effort!
