Sims-Lohman Inc. a granite countertop manufacturer and cabinet distributor, said Monday that it will invest $2 million to buy and equip a 57,000-square-foot facility in Zionsville as part of a 32-job expansion.

The Cincinnati-based company, which currently has 22 full-time workers in Zionsville, said the new facility will include a showroom as well as stone-fabrication production space.

The company expects to have the 32 additional workers on board by 2015. It is in the process of adding fabricators, installers and sales staff.

"Our company is enjoying sizable sales growth in central Indiana," said John Beiersdorfer, president of Sims-Lohman. He said the company is benefitting from the rebound in the housing market. Building permits in the nine-county Indianapolis area have increased 23 percent in the last year, according to the Builders Association of Greater Indianapolis.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. is providing Sims-Lohman up to $150,000 in training grants based on the company's job-creation plans.
