PolyOne’s Designed Structures and Solutions division in Warsaw will begin terminating employees Jan. 6 and finish by Sept. 30, the company said in a filing received Thursday by the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
Among the employees losing their jobs will be 29 extruder operators and helpers, nine maintenance workers, nine technicians, and more than a dozen managers and supervisors.
PolyOne acquired the plant in March when it bought Clayton, Mo.-based Spartech Corp. for $393 million.
Spartech made plastic sheeting at the Warsaw plant, which it acquired in 2000 from Uniroyal Technology.
PolyOne announced in July that it would close six of the plants it acquired as part of the Spartech purchase, eliminating about 250 jobs and producing $25 million in annual savings. The other plants are in Wisconsin, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri and Pennsylvania.
PolyOne had sales of $2.9 billion in 2012. The company operates more than 80 manufacturing and distribution sites worldwide.
