Dang! I just read the [Nov. 11] IBJ, as I have done every Monday since forever (always reading Benner’s column first). Even though I really don’t know him, I’m pretty sad. I guess that means I’m suffering some kind of loss—over someone I don’t even know. The grownup in me says I should move on and just accept what comes next. But the kid in me suspects that what’s next just won’t be the same. I’m having a childhood flashback about the time the corner ice cream parlor closed.
