Representatives from Estridge and Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard discussed the partnership this morning at a press conference at the City-County Building.
The Indianapolis episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is slated as the two-hour season finale. It is tentatively scheduled to air May 17 on ABC-TV.
On March 27, a “deserving” family will learn they have been chosen to receive the new home.
The home will be completed in one week and all products and labor must be donated. An estimated 90 Estridge employees will donate their time, but the company is recruiting community volunteers to help.
“The City of Indianapolis is pleased to be the site of an extreme build,” Ballard said in a prepared statement. “This will not only help a deserving family, but it also will demonstrate to the world how this community works together to honor and support its everyday heroes.”
Now in its sixth season, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” has won back-to-back Emmy Awards as best non-competitive reality program.
