  1. By all means if it “will save $50 million a year in operating costs by consolidating two large acute-care hospitals, eliminating duplication of many services.”

  2. Interesting that the number of rooms will remain the same. It can already be difficult to get admitted to the hospital, with waits for care that aren’t great.

    1. Aaron, in case you missed it, as stated in the first sentence of the second paragraph of the article: “The health system said it plans to increase the number of private patient rooms in the new hospital by 29%, to 864 from a previously planned 672.”
