Rolls-Royce Corp. has scored a $1 billion contract to deliver 600 engines to power the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, Rolls-Royce announced Wednesday.

Through the agreement, Rolls-Royce will supply its AE2100 engines, built in Indianapolis, for the latest version of the C-130J through 2025.

Lockheed Martin builds the C-130J, a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft. Both the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Marine Corps use the C-130J.

The British manufacturer so far has delivered more than 1,500 AE 2100 engines to Lockheed’s plant in Marietta, Ga., the company said.

Rolls-Royce produces aircraft engines and lift system components in Indianapolis.
