The Indiana Economic Development Corp. said that Gov. Mike Pence and GE Aviation CEO David Joyce will be on hand for the announcement at the Purdue University Airport.
Evendale, Ohio-based GE Aviation, the world's largest jet engine maker, is a unit of the Connecticut-based General Electric Co.
An IEDC press release said officials would make a “major Hoosier jobs announcement” at the press conference. Details on the new plant, and how many people it will employ, were not immediately available.
GE Aviation employs more than 40,000 people and recorded 2013 revenue of $21.9 billion. It is one of three companies that dominate jet-engine manufacturing globally. The others are Connecticut-based Pratt & Whitney and London-based Rolls-Royce, which employs more than 4,000 people in Indianapolis.
