I was interested to see the [March 17] article concerning the Toyota dealerships’ “turf altercations” shall we call them.

The Toyota organization appears to have no problem with Ed Martin’s move from Anderson to Fishers.

Nor do his Indianapolis-based clients.

I purchased my first Prius from an Indianapolis dealership, and my second from Ed Martin Toyota in Anderson in 2009. In the intervening years I’ve sat in the service waiting area in Anderson and met many people from Indianapolis who are quite willing to drive the 25 miles up Interstate 69 to buy and service or to service previously purchased Toyotas (from other dealers) at Ed Martin. These people invariably had previous experience with other Toyota dealerships.

It is obvious to me that the other Toyota dealerships need to look at customer service as the means to protecting their turf.
