Autism Companion Magazine launched September 2013 as a quarterly publication of stories about autism patients and families across a range of ages.

“Holly’s passion runs deep, and we look forward to a great evening and time together,” said Jane Grimes, CEO of Autism Companion Magazine, in a prepared statement. Grimes, a Noblesville resident, has a daughter with autism.

Holly Robinson Peete, 49, is known for her roles on the 1980s TV show “21 Jump Street “and the 1990s show “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper.” She and her husband, former pro football quarterback Rodney Peete, have a son with autism. Through their HollyRod Foundation, they donate to help families with autistic children and relatives. Peete and her daughter, Ryan, co-authored a children’s book about autism called “My Brother Charlie.”

Nationally, one out of 88 children has been diagnosed with autism or a related condition, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control. In Indiana, the rates are even higher, with one out of 77 children diagnosed with an autism-spectrum disorder.
