Subscribe NowVirginia-based Sallie Mae said this morning that it would bring 2,000 jobs to the United States within the next 18 months by shifting call-center and other operations from overseas. Sallie Mae, the nation’s largest private student lender, said in a statement that it would hire call-center, information-technology and support employees. The company didn’t identify where the employees would be hired, but Indiana could be well positioned to get some of the jobs. It employs 2,300 workers at offices in Fishers and Castleton, and 700 at a call center in Muncie.
