I’ve seen the power of inspirational leadership and the subsequent production that can be achieved. By contrast, I’ve seen the negative effect number worship has on the morale and integrity of a team. Too many managers fall into the trap of leadership by way of daily, weekly and monthly reports.
The only way to achieve sustainable best-in-class results is to inspire greatness and create an environment where people want to be the best, which is not necessarily measurable, but certainly the most effective.
