Trailer manufacturer Wabash National Corp. has announced plans for a $2 million expansion that will bring more than 100 new jobs to one central Indiana city over the next five years.

Wabash National announced Friday that its new manufacturing complex in Frankfort, about 45 miles northwest of Indianapolis, will expand its Wabash Composites business.

WLFI-TV reported that the Frankfort operations will manufacture a variety of products, including mobile storage containers, mobile offices and other cargo units.

Wabash National will begin hiring in October and initial operations are expected to begin in December. The company is headquartered in nearby Lafayette.

Frankfort Mayor Chris McBarnes says his city welcomes Wabash National "as a new and valued corporate citizen."
