Stant Corp. announced Friday the company will stay in Connersville, where it was founded in 1898, the Palladium-Item reported.
Stant officials announced earlier this month that the company was searching for a new location in Michigan to be nearer to its customer base.
Connersville Mayor Leonard Urban said he was "tickled pink" by Stant's decision to remain in the city about 50 miles east of Indianapolis.
Stant has nearly 300 employees in its Connersville corporate headquarters, machine development building, technical center and manufacturing operations.
The company makes thermostats, radiator and reservoir bottle caps, fuel caps and many other products for automobiles.
