As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowIndianapolis-based Lenex Steel Corp. plans to acquire Wabash Steel LLC of Vincennes from its Ohio-based owner, the local company announced Wednesday.
Terms of the deal, which is expected to close late this year or early in 2015, were not disclosed.
Lenex furnishes, fabricates and installs structural and miscellaneous steel for use in construction. The 11-year-old company has about 100 employees at its Indianapolis headquarters and at facilities in Terre Haute and Chicago.
Some of Lenex's local projects include the Indiana Convention Center and Simon Property Group's headquarters.
Wabash Steel, which is owned by Westerville, Ohio-based Kokosing Construction Co. Inc., fabricates steel bridge girders. The 8-year-old company has about 50 employees.
Wabash was started with the assets of bridge-building company Vincennes Steel Corp., which closed in 2006 after 107 years in the steel-fabrication business.
