A former top executive at the Cincinnati company behind dozens of Frisch's Big Boy restaurants is denying that he embezzled $3.3 million as the company alleges.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reported that 52-year-old Michael Hudson in recent court filings refuted all allegations of theft and fraud made by Frisch's in a civil suit filed against him in January.

Frisch's said in the lawsuit that it suspects Hudson, a former assistant treasurer, stole $3.3 million over seven years in a systematic fraud. Hudson requested that the civil suit be dismissed in a court filing on Feb. 17.

Frisch's said it notified law enforcement agencies, launched a special investigation and is adding checks and balances to its accounting systems.

The company owns 95 Big Boy restaurants and has 26 more franchised eateries in the three-state area, including at least five locations in Indiana. The nearest Big Boys to Indianapolis are in Anderson, Greensburg and Richmond. The company has 6,100 workers, including 2,600 full-time employees.
