  1. Before you insult me for my comments, know that I’ve probably help more homeless on a more profound level than most of the yay sayers.
I reside outside the one mile square. However the proposed new low barrier homeless shelter butts against my property along with the balance of land I invested in for Indy’s future and my retirement.

In my opinion, this entire project is a rogue independent initiative made on Federal and state funding.
It is ludicrous that the mile square constituents should be charged a clean up fee that should fall under another account for the city. Where is the other clean up and mowing money coming from? For example, cleaning highway trash and mowing city easements. which by the way our lovely mayor, who has not responded to one of my six letters, has not managed very well.

It is really ludicrous that these constituents should pay to support the homeless shelter. Why is it their responsibility. I also, can’t see how they can charge for something that the buyers, RDOOR, never consulted with the surrounding home and business owners. According to the representer of the homeless project , they don’t have a manager for the shelter. Nor do they have an idea for security. Yet the city is ready to charge a fee. Unless they are keeping secrets from me, its going to turn out like the corner of East and Ohio, outside the Wheeler Mission.

Do they all think magic will happen to keep the homeless from hanging out on the streets of the mile square area?

This is a mess and waist of millions of dollars. Especially that there is such a long waiting list for secure housing as of now, that any recovery people in the shelter will not be able to move to the next level.

Something should be done to help the homeless but they need a more organized plan or all your doing is running their life more than it is now,

    This is a mess.
