Subscribe NowIntegrated Distribution Services Inc. plans to consolidate its operations in Plainfield into one huge facility, enabling an expansion that could create 71 new jobs by the end of 2020, the logistics company announced Monday.
IDS said it plans to spend $2.7 million to lease and equip a 450,738-square-foot facility in AllPoints Midwest business park, where it will move operations from three other Plainfield facilities.
The company, which has about 70 existing employees, plans to begin renovations on the building in the next few weeks and start hiring for warehousing, transportation, sales and back-office positions late this year.
IDS was founded in 1960 as Trans-City Terminal Warehouse. It is a third-party logistics provider specializing in direct-to-consumer and business-to-consumer fulfillment for retail customers in numerous industries. It also operates a fast-growing transportation-services division that will operate from the new location.
The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offered IDS up to $625,000 in performance-based tax credits based on the company’s job-creation plans. The town of Plainfield will consider additional incentives.
