Terms of the deal were not announced, but Interactive Intelligence said the all-cash acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on its financial results.
AcroSoft, founded in 1996, has 13 full-time employees and more than 40 customers in the mid-size property-and-casualty and life insurance markets.
Business research firm Dun & Bradstreet Inc. estimated that Acrosoft brings in $2.5 million in annual revenue.
Interactive Intelligence CEO Don Brown said his company made the acquisition to boost its insurance-related customer base, which already numbers more than 75 clients.
“This acquisition also lays the groundwork for incorporating additional document-management capabilities into our all-in-one communications software suite, and extending that functionality to other vertical industries and horizontal processes,” Brown said in a prepared statement.
The company plans to maintain AcroSoft’s headquarters and to hire additional software developers, support technicians and salespeople in both Indianapolis and Columbia.
Interactive Intelligence’s stock rose 14 cents this morning, to $11.52 per share.
