As a subscriber you can listen to articles at work, in the car, or while you work out. Subscribe NowOneJet, which this year started offering nonstop flights aboard small jets from Indianapolis to other midsize cities, has added Nashville, Tennessee, to its schedule.
The Boston-based company announced Thursday that flights between Indianapolis International Airport and Nashville International Airport will be available to purchase online starting Thursday, with service starting Sept. 8. The flights will run four days a week.
“Nashville has been one of the key destinations demanded by both Indianapolis corporate and community leadership,” OneJet CEO Matthew Maguire said in a written statement.
The company launched here earlier this year with the hope of satisfying corporate demand for more nonstop flights between Indianapolis and other small and midsized cities. It currently operates flights from Indianapolis to Milwaukee, Pittsburgh and Memphis. Before OneJet, there was no nonstop service from Indianapolis to Milwaukee.
OneJet recently celebrated serving its 1,000th Indianapolis passenger.
“We’ve had a great response from the folks in Indianapolis,” said spokesman Jon Austin. “It’s given us confidence to take on an expansion."
Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the Indianapolis Airport Authority, said Nashville is a good addition to the schedule for business travelers.
"They’ve been asking for a nonstop flight to this city so we are happy to announce this new service,” Rodriguez said in written remarks. “Now our customers can enjoy a quick, convenient trip to this important location."
