Hutton succeeds Jason Konesco, who has been president of Harrison since 2010. Konesco joined the college in 1999 as director of admissions.
Konesco will remain on Harrison’s board of directors.
Hutton comes to Harrison from Keiser University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where he was managing director of Keiser’s Center for Career Education and Leadership and a professor for the Master of Science in Education–Career College.
Harrison said he will continue his role as the publisher of Career Education Review.
“The last 17 years have been years of evolution and transformation for the college” Konesco said in a written statement. “I feel equally fortunate to have Jim Hutton succeed me. He is one of the most talented college leaders I know, and Harrison will be poised for continued growth and exceptional student outcomes under his leadership.”
Harrison, formerly known as Indiana Business College, was founded in 1902. The school has more than 3,000 students taking courses at 13 campuses in Indiana, Ohio and North Carolina.
