The State Budget Committee is slated to get a revised revenue forecast from a
bipartisan group of fiscal analysts. A forecast released in April missed the
mark by $255 million for revenues that same month. Lawmakers hope the revised
forecast will shed more accurate light on the state’s financial situation.
Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels could use the new forecast to prepare his
proposed budget, which is expected June 1.
The General Assembly didn’t approve a budget by its regular-session deadline,
so Daniels must call a special session before the current budget expires June
30.
