Kevoian and Griswold host the popular "The Bob & Tom Show," which has aired locally during the morning drive [6 a.m. to 10:20 a.m.] on WFBQ-FM 94.7 since 1983. The show went into national syndication in 1995.
The program is carried on 130 stations nationwide, has won five Marconi Awards and generated more than 50 comedy albums over the years.
Kevoian and Griswold will be among eight people inducted this year at the Museum of Broadcast Communications in Chicago. Indianapolis broadcast veterans Chris Wheat and Rick Green are set to make remarks about Kevoian and Griswold at the induction. Wheat formerly managed WFBQ and Green is the current boss at the station.
Despite playing to an aging demographic on a classic rock station, "The Bob & Tom Show" continues to be one of the top-rated morning radio programs in the Indianapolis market 32 years after its debut. According to BIA/Kelsey, a radio research firm, the show still generates millions of dollars in advertising for the local station annually.
“This highly esteemed 2015 class of inductees represents the hard work, drive and unique talent that makes radio great,” said National Radio Hall of Fame Chairman Kraig Kitchin in a written statement.
The National Radio Hall of Fame was founded in 1988. Its inaugural class included Alan Freed, Orson Welles, Edward R. Murrow, Groucho Marx, Arthur Godfrey and Benny Goodman.
This year's inductees also include Big Boy (Kurt Alexander), Elvis Duran, Clark Howard, Dan Mason, Scott Muni, Ronn Owens and Dave Ramsey.
