Twenty-six-year-old Republican Matt Gentry won Lebanon's election Tuesday with nearly two-thirds of the vote. Gentry told The Lebanon Reporter he's ready for the learning curve of leading the 16,000-person community near Indianapolis.
Gentry is a former Indiana House Republican staffer and works for the political consulting firm Mark It Red that's led by his father, Mike Gentry.
The mayoral winner in Delphi was 25-year-old independent candidate Shane Evans, who graduated this year from Indiana University's law school. Evans told Journal & Courier of Lafayette his primary focus will be attracting young families to the 3,000-person city.
Voters in Frankfort re-elected Republican Mayor Chris McBarnes, who won his first term in the Clinton County city four years ago at the age of 23.
