The commemoration of the Beatles’ performances at the 1964 Indiana State Fair will extend to September, Indiana State Fairgrounds officials announced Saturday.
A concert by prominent tribute act 1964 The Tribute is planned Sept. 3 at Indiana Farmers Coliseum, marking the 60th anniversary of the Beatles’ visit to the Indiana State Fair. Because this year’s fair opened Friday and concludes Aug. 18, Fab Four celebrations are happening during the fair as well as on the Sept. 3 anniversary date.
On Saturday, the fair’s Hoosier Lottery Free Stage is hosting Cleveland-based tribute band Hard Day’s Night at 2 p.m. and a Paul McCartney tribute show by former “Beatlemania” cast member Tony Kishman at 7 p.m.
John Lennon, George Harrison, Ringo Starr and McCartney performed Sept. 3, 1964, at the Coliseum and Grandstand of the Indiana State Fairgrounds.
The Sept. 3, 2024, event, billed as “Seems Like Yesterday,” will feature a listening session of original audio from the Beatles’ Coliseum show followed by 1964 The Tribute onstage at the same venue.
Founded 40 years ago in Akron, Ohio, 1964 The Tribute plans to play the same songs the Beatles played in Indianapolis.
The Fairgrounds also will unveil a new Beatles-themed art installation made from Rubik’s Cubes by Fort Wayne-based visual artist Cory Heimann.

Would be cool if they could get Jerry Baker to introduce them like he did in 1964.
