The state announced it has received new federal support for the final development of 110 ethanol pumps.

The Indiana Office of Energy Development said the state will receive $895,000 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture through the Biofuel Infrastructure Partnership grant. It will be combined with an investment from the Indiana Corn Marketing Council.

The state, which currently has 185 dedicated ethanol refueling stations, was one of 21 states to receive the funding. The USDA plans to invest up to $100 million in the program, seeking to double the number of fuel pumps in its quest to expand the marketplace for biofuels.

“I have always been supportive of an all-of-the-above energy strategy,” Gov. Mike Pence said in a written statement. “This funding will allow for the installation of more ethanol pumps and will ultimately give Hoosiers more choices while further diversifying our energy portfolio.”•
