First job: Screen-printing T-shirts and sweeping up hair at her family’s businesses at the age of 10. “I saw firsthand the difference entrepreneurship can have on a family and community, and this experience is a major driver of why I choose to pour back into entrepreneurs.”
Givebacks: Serves as a court-appointed special advocate in Johnson County and sits on the Johnson County Community Foundation grant board.
Something surprising: “I am a proud first-generation college graduate. I was extremely fortunate to participate in the 21st Century Scholars program, and that opportunity sparked a passion to give back to our state.”
Morgan Allen oversees Indiana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem development initiatives, making entrepreneurship resources more accessible and equitable for Hoosier business founders. “I can see the positive impact our work has on entrepreneurs and small businesses in every community throughout the state. … And I feel fortunate to be able to give back and make a difference each day,” she said. In 2023, she led the effort to launch ConnectIND, a first-of-its-kind statewide listing of resources, programs and services for entrepreneurs that provides visitors curated connections to Indiana’s network of support organizations, mentors, accelerators, capital opportunities, space, licensing and permitting. She also led Indiana’s selection as host of the 2025 Global Entrepreneurship Congress, which will welcome entrepreneurs, policymakers, investors and startup ecosystem builders from around the world to Indiana. Indianapolis will be the second U.S. location to host the annual convention since its inaugural event in 2009. Before IEDC, Allen supported operations and strategic planning for 10 municipal departments in the Bloomington Mayor’s Office and ran multiple political campaigns.•
