Subscribe NowDemandJump LLC, a Carmel-based marketing software firm founded earlier this year, landed venture capital from firms run by local tech heavyweights Bill Godfrey and Tim Kopp that have backed only a handful of Indianapolis seed deals this year.
DemandJump announced Wednesday that it raised $750,000 in its first financing round, led by investment firms 4G Ventures, run by Godfrey, and the local office of Chicago-based Hyde Park Venture Partners, run by Kopp.
Godfrey is former CEO of digital marketing firm Aprimo Inc. and Kopp is former chief marketing officer of ExactTarget Inc.
"I love the team and I think the product is right on the mark," Godfrey said about DemandJump on Tuesday.
DemandJump said its software guides companies on the best places to spend their marketing dollars. It differs from competing products by offering analytics-driven recommendations, officials said, not just a scorecard of historical marketing performance from which marketers make gut decisions.
The company is led by CEO Christopher Day and chief strategy officer Shawn Schwegman, both of whom have been previously involved in a variety of startups. DemandJump in July said it planned to hire more than 80 workers by 2018.
"We are very excited that this group of sophisticated and experienced investors saw the game-changing technology that we developed and decided to join our team," Day said in a written statement.
