  1. 25% workforce reduction for a 1% savings. That’s a great ROI… said no one. It’s like Musk is the future fall guy for Trump. He can do Trumps bidding, get voted out/eliminated after doing economic damage, and suffer no consequences.

  2. The cheerleaders are ignoring tail risk. There is a find out part to eliminating transportation safety, intelligence, public health, emergency response, the justice system, support of agriculture, food and drug safety, etc.

    1. They’re trying to reimplement the system of graft and patronage that existed over 100 years ago. There are reasons why that went away …

People who don’t study history are doomed to repeat it.

  3. I think if I were a government employee and good at my job, I’d get a few of my friends who were also good at their jobs, take the package, and then set up a consulting company to bid on doing the work I did as a government employee…only at a much higher rate. The work still will need to be done, and those who know how to do it should be well positioned in about 10 months to win those consultant contracts…

When Trusk and Mumps and their ilk are done tearing out the employed federal work force and have substitured consulants at a higher cost, the Congress should recover the extra expense from Trusk and Mumps individually. Especiallly Mumps, who is apparently not a government employee.

  4. “Does not match the will of the people”

You mean the same people who were told that, sure all this was written down in Project 2025, but Trump disavowed that, remember? And claimed that none of the people who were involved would be in his administration?

Right before he … got elected and installed all the people who wrote Project 2025, who set about implementing Project 2025.

So either … this isn’t the actually the will of the people, because they were lied to, or it’s just assumed that Donald Trump can’t be trusted and you can’t believe a single word he says. Or, both …

  5. I wonder how many of the above commentators pay taxes….If so, you must be fine with $36 Trillion in debt and a $2 Trillion plus deficit!!!

Are you insane??? The money that is “wasted” finds its way back to Democrats, their media, etc. and you folks are just fine with that!

How about we fund National Defense, Medicare and Social Security and do away with 90% of the rest. If you think all hell will break loose you’re crazy!! Make the ones on the national dole go get real jobs that add real value!!!

    1. It’s always nice for the folks who actually believe news from conservative media to self-identify.

90% of the rest won’t make a difference in the deficit. The issue is that we don’t collect enough.

Republicans have full control of the executive and legislative branches, why not just do this as laid out in the Constitution?

    2. John, it’s a 1% savings for the national budget, but damages countless agencies. It’s not worth it. Some of items you mentioned (don’t forget corporate welfare) is “hands off” yet costs the tax payer BILLIONS of dollars every year. Make it make sense.

    3. Its funny how the three things you mentioned are already by far and away the largest budget items and defense is notoriously our biggest area of waste (building ships and planes that we don’t need or don’t work).
