  1. Getting off too easy. Whalen decimated whole neighborhoods, including one on the Near Eastside on the north side of Brookside Park turning it into a wasteland. At the least, he should be required to repay what he stole from investors and renters, and to compensate the communities he harmed. I hope his partner Morris is also finally charged. No way he was not a part of the scam.

    1. Way, WAY, to easy !! Long after this scam was reported and widely documented to authorities Whalen and Morris thumbed their noses at the law and all of the innocent people they stole from. 3 years in prison … should be 30. And yes, there are millions of dollars that need to be paid back. Can’t wish enough bad on these guys.

  2. The “time” these scoundrels will serve fall far short of the crime they committed. The cheated investors should file a civil class action suit for recovery of their stolen investments.
