THAT tactic has worked so well for your beloved establishment, hasn’t it? Please continue. Almost as funny as the legacy media’s desperate attempt to contrive reporting that suggests this isn’t having impact. If that were true, they’d have nothing to challenge.
These illegals’ very presence in this country is a criminal record in itself.
And yet, when it comes to violent crime per capita, and even property crime per capita, they commit next to none. Seems like we’re expending a lot of resources on a problem that doesn’t actually exist and we would gain a lot more from establishing a permanent residency and path to citizenship program. Illegal immigrants don’t receive Federal benefits but they pay income, sales, and payroll taxes (about $21.5 billion at the Federal level and $13.6 billion at the State level; this varies depending on source). They do benefit from some Federal spending (but not the social safety nets), but we’ve blown way past the cost of services to illegal immigrants in our efforts to arrest and deport them. Asking for an additional $175 billion is absolutely bananas and we won’t ever get that money back through “savings.”
TL;DR – This approach to immigration is about the worst any nation can possibly take. It’s expensive, won’t work, and we’ll be stuck with the bag for decades.
