What ever happened to HyVee’s planned expansion to this area?
Seems like it’s not gonna happen. HyVee has retrenched from its initial advertising outlay in Indycar after the CEO who announced the expansion into Indiana retired. Presumably it has withdrawn from its market expansion as well.
To clarify, though, while I’m just some random guy on the internet I have been watching for any signs of the HyVee very closely; central Indiana really needs more full-service players in the grocery space since Marsh fell apart. It seems like Kroger just doesn’t have the impetus to really do a great job without real competition? And meijer/target/aldi just aren’t doing it.
