A recount team added and subtracted some votes, but the final margin remained the same—a 37-vote victory by attorney Sean Gorman over Hoosier Environmental Council Executive Director Jesse Kharbanda in Senate District 36, WIBC-93.1 FM reported.
Gorman will face Indianapolis City-County Councilor Jack Sandlin for the seat being vacated by Greenwood Republican Brent Waltz.
Gorman said he's relieved to have the result finalized. He said the lingering uncertainty has made it harder to get the fall campaign up and rolling.
Waltz won re-election four years ago by six percentage points.
