GOP source: Trump, Pence to appear at Indiana fundraiser

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump and running mate Mike Pence are expected to headline a southern Indiana fundraiser next week where seats cost a minimum of $10,000 — and an upscale package costs 25 times that.

An invitation obtained by The Associated Press says the "casual attire" reception, dinner and photo opportunity will be Monday in the Ohio River city of Evansville at the home of former Black Beauty Coal Co. chairman Steve Chancellor.

A source with knowledge of the inner workings of the campaign says both Trump and Pence are expected to attend. The source spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

The fundraiser is the just the latest Pence has held in Indiana on Trump's behalf. Before being tapped as Trump's running mate, Pence hosted a fundraiser last month in downtown Indianapolis. Another Indiana fundraiser is being planned for later in the month or early September, the source said.

Chancellor, who is CEO of the American Patriot Group holding company, has hosted Republican fundraiser events before. In 2012, he held an event for Republican nominee Mitt Romney at his home. In 2004, a fundraiser he hosted was attended by former President George H.W. Bush, retired Gen. Norman Schwarzkopf and former Vice President Dan Quayle.

Tickets to Monday's event range from $10,000 for two, up to $250,000.

Donors who purchase a $25,000 pair of tickets will attain "eagles membership benefits" and be eligible to attend a private roundtable, a reception and have their photo taken. From there the levels of donor distinction go to, with those who pay $100,000 earning "regent" membership and donors of $250,000 attaining a "chairman's council membership."

Proceeds from the fundraiser will be split by the Donald J. Trump for President committee, the Republican National Committee and the state GOP parties from 11 different states, according to the invitation.
