Two Indiana Republican members of Congress aren't facing any prominent challengers in their attempts to get back on the November election ballot.

Candidates for the seats now held by U.S. Reps. Susan Brooks and Todd Rokita faced a Wednesday filing deadline to be considered by Republican precinct committee members during Saturday votes.

That's when they will fill ballot vacancies created when Brooks and Rokita withdrew their congressional candidacies to seek the GOP gubernatorial nomination after Gov. Mike Pence became Donald Trump's running mate. GOP leaders instead picked Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb to run for governor.

The two challengers to Brooks include Stephen MacKenzie of Fishers, whom she easily defeated in the May primary.

Rokita's three challengers include Kevin Grant of West Lafayette, who lost by wide margins to Rokita in the 2016 and 2014 primaries.
