Subscribe NowI want to commend congressman [Todd] Rokita for speaking up and shedding further light on the continuing efforts of the Obama administration to cripple the for-profit sector [Rokita: Feds to blame for ITT collapse, Oct. 10].
The next target is the Accrediting Council of Independent Colleges and Schools. What better way to attack the entire sector than to deny re-recognition to the largest accreditor of for profit institutions. All the U.S. Department of Education has to do is identify ACICS shortcomings and use their bullying to decide that there is no chance or no time for ACICS to correct any of its shortcomings.
This unprecedented and overreaching action would be laughable, if hundreds of innocent ACICS schools and hundreds of thousands of innocent students were not thrown into harm’s way in the wake of the department’s politically motivated maneuvers.
Shutting down schools and accrediting agencies without due process and without providing avenues to gain compliance is not the acts of the United States that I know and love.
If we could only use the same kangaroo court criteria that the department is using to get rid of over-reaching politicians and bureaucrats!
