Indianapolis-based RW Armstrong already wanted to grow its federal contract business, and this contract sure can’t
hurt.

The architectural and engineering firm will provide design and project management services for the Presidential
Helicopter Squadron, a 65,000-square-foot hangar complex being built at a Marine Corps base in Quantico, Va.

That’s
presidential as in President of the United States.

Armstrong will work for Archer Western Contractors, which is
constructing the facility. Archer Western is a subsidiary of Chicago-based Walsh Group, which may be better known locally
for rebuilding portions of Interstates 65 and 70 in the downtown area.

“This contract allows us to expand
upon our federal programs initiative,” said Roland Salman, president of RW Armstrong.

The company has more
than 500 employees at 16 offices. Armstrong’s Cleveland office will do much of the work on the presidential helicopter
hangar project, which is scheduled to open in March 2011.•
