Evansville-based Dunn Hospitality Group has submitted plans with Fishers to build a six-story hotel at The Yard at Fishers District, a $110 million culinary-focused development on the south side of 116th Street east of Interstate 69. The hotel property would feature the Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands.
Yard developer Thompson Thrift previously announced that it intended to attract a dual-branded hotel. The Hyatt Place/Hyatt House hotel would be located along the southern portion of the 17-acre site.
Progress on The Yard is just beginning, and the Fishers City Council last month gave approval to issue up to $16.4 million in bonds for the project.
Already announced tenants include Sun King Brewing Co., RAWkin Juice, Havana Lounge, Copper Moon Coffee and two concepts from St. Elmo Steak House operator Craig Huse: Burger Study and 1933 Lounge. Plan also call for a 252-unit luxury apartment complex to be built.
Dunn’s proposal to build the dual-branded hotel goes before the city’s Planned Unit Development Committee for a public hearing Tuesday, where plans for landscaping, lighting and architecture will be reviewed.
Submitted documents don’t specify how many rooms the hotel would have, but Thompson Thrift officials previously said they were looking for a 220-room hotel.
Another dual-branded Hyatt Place and Hyatt House complex is under construction on Pennsylvania Street across from Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. The complex has 316 rooms.
